Who comes to our School?

The children who attend Whitefield Primary School come from a very wide area, from our local Whitefield houses to as far away as Lostock Hall and Walton-le-Dale. 

We have many children who come to us from the Hutton/Longton area, Broadoak area and also from Preston City.

Our school is wonderfully diverse with 14% of our children coming from a different ethnic background to white British. This is wonderful as we are always celebrating religious festivals in school and learning about each other's cultures.  

We have 60 places in each year group that are split in to two classes of 30.  

In September 2010, we had 310 children at our school. In that year, only 27 families chose Whitefield as their number one school choice for their 4 year olds.

In September 2023, we have 395 children at our school, with a capacity of 420 so it is lovely to be able to say we are nearly full!

In 2022, all those who put Whitefield as their first school preference got a place at Whitefield.
